What’s The Opportunity?
We’re hiring a Sales Representative to help us expand our client list and keep growing our business.
Initially, you’ll be learning more about what we do, our process, and the types of tourism businesses we typically work with whilst working on an outreach campaign for one of our clients.
Ultimately, you’ll become a high-performing sales consultant in our business, hosting meetings with tourism business owners on Zoom to develop relationships and turn prospective clients into new business.
Starting out this is a part-time position working in our remote team. The initial trial is for 3 months, with an hourly rate plus commission compensation structure.
If you’re made of the right stuff, on target earnings working part-time only, from home, should exceed £2,000 per month as a mix of commission and base salary. Applicants must be fluent in English and have the ability to work 20 hours per week on a UK timezone.
Beyond the initial trial, really we’re looking for someone who can scale up to full-time and drive new business growth in our business long-term. Someone who will become a standout member of the team, staying on through 2021 and beyond to become a senior figure in business development.
This is a location independent position, allowing you to work from wherever you’d like. All lead generation and appointment setting is provided for this sales role from our proven marketing system – you will not be expected to find your own prospects.

What Will I Be Doing?
We’re not a Fortune 500 company, which means you won’t be just another employee in a cubicle.
As a Sales Rep, you’ll be responsible for building deeper relationships with the sales prospects we assign to you. We’ll typically set and co-ordinate warm appointments for you, but you’ll still need to hustle and engage them by phone, text, email, and social media to develop, follow-up with and sign up new partners.
You’ll be expected to contribute actionable feedback our leadership team can use to improve the existing operation, strategise current campaigns and build future processes.

Here are examples of tasks you might be working on, day to day:
- Making sales calls and closing deals, either as pre-booked Zoom video calls or as outbound phone calls in Hubspot
- Following up with your leads creatively, adding value via WhatsApp, Messenger, Phone, Email, SMS… whatever it takes
- Giving feedback to the sales co-ordination team, who run campaigns to generate leads for you
- Scheduling automated sequences in Hubspot to keep warming up your leads
- Updating information about your leads in our CRM, to maintain an accurate picture of our sales pipeline
- Reporting to the COO on your performances and sales KPIs
- Collaborating and communicating with our team via Slack.
Because we’re a smaller team, you should expect to wear different hats at times as the company continues to grow.
This Position Is Perfect For You If…
You're fearless speaking to strangers
You will be making calls, familiarising prospects with our business, and persuading them to commit their time and energy to the solutions you have to offer. At first you’ll only be offering a free solution, but the plan is to get you closing deals worth thousands. So if you aren’t comfortable talking with business people about about money – both making it for them and investing it with you – then please reconsider your application.
This is a sales position, so you need to be unfazed by rejection, getting on the phone with strangers, and answering hostile questions as they come at you.
You’re creative, bringing new ideas & opportunities to the team
We have a ton of processes in place, and our marketing machine is growing all the time, giving us more and more leads coming through our funnels. That being said, you should also bring your own unique set of skills to generate potential customers. Who knows? Maybe your unique set of skills is something we start making part of our standard procedures!
You’re cool on digital marketing
You don’t need to already have all the technical understanding of our system, but if the terms ‘lead magnet’ and ‘email automation’ sound foreign to you, it might be worth reconsidering if you have the foundations this position requires.
You’re going to be selling marketing technology, so you’re tech-savvy. Ideally you’ve read a few books, taken a few courses, or have a fledgling side project of your own that demonstrates your skills. Make sure you answer question three of the application with ‘plenty’ as the first word.
You love to empathise, influence & inspire
We want people that understand the dynamics of influence and persuasion, someone that is knowledgeable about how to effectively engage with our target market. At this level, you must have the innate ability to understand what someone else is going through, and to meet them where they’re at.
You’re a master communicator
Emails… texts… Zoom calls… effective communication that cuts through the noise is a must-have skill in this game. Your wordsmithery needs to be tight, engaging and persuasive – and we’ll ask you to prove it. There should be no doubts about your style and ability to create a solid call to action.
You're a self-starter
We’re looking for someone who gets shit done and delivers on time. Ideally you are self-directed, self-motivated, and don’t need someone to look over your shoulder or hold your hand. This is a remote position, so you’ll need to be organized enough to make sure that you’re on top of everything.

How Do I Apply?
Here is the sequence of events we’ll use to hire for this role:
Step 1: Record a Youtube video, fill out the application form, and submit ASAP.
Step 2: We review the submissions, shortlist the top 10 candidates and send out an aptitude test for you to complete. Time required: approximately one hour.
Step 3: We schedule video chat interviews with the top 3 candidates to make a final decision.
Step 4: We make our hiring announcement (August 27th).
Step 5: The chosen candidate starts working at 10x Tourism (September 1st).

The quality of the video doesn’t matter, and there are no bonus points for expert editing. We just want no more than 5-7 minutes of you explaining, based on your previous experience:
